Ellie’s story begins with a loose Shetland pony and turns into a lifelong devotion to dressage. Her early drive—training ponies as a child and winning championships by age 12—shows a deep, authentic love for horses and riding that isn’t manufactured; it’s in her bones.
She doesn’t just teach—she trains, rides, competes, and produces real results. Taking multiple horses to FEI level, developing piaffe and passage, and winning champion and high point awards proves her methods work in the real world.
One of the most valuable traits in a trainer is being able to uncomplicate the process—and this is Ellie’s specialty. Her ability to translate the biomechanics of both horse and rider into clear, tangible instruction sets her apart.
From high-level FEI competition horses to ponies trained for children, Ellie’s breadth of experience means she welcomes and improves all horses and riders. There’s no ego—just a commitment to growth.
Her background—home-schooling herself to pursue horse training, taking time off for family, and then rebuilding her career—shows a strong sense of resilience and practicality. She hasn’t just followed her passion blindly; she’s shaped her life around it, with intention.
Her time with Jeffery Ashton Moore is a testament to her willingness to learn and evolve. Even with her accomplishments, she remains a student of the art—a hallmark of any true master.
Whether you’re riding a $100,000 dressage import or a backyard pony, Ellie’s barn doors are open. That kind of openness and lack of elitism is rare and invaluable in the dressage world.
If you're considering riding with Ellie, training with her, or writing about her—this combination of skill, humility, clarity, and passion is what makes her truly exceptional. She’s not just a trainer; she’s a horsewoman in the purest sense.
